"How Extremists Hijack Peaceful Protests"

Civil unrest in the United States has become a regular occurrence since the death of George Floyd who died after being taken into police custody in Minnesota on May 25th, 2020.  What started out as peaceful protests has, in many cases, devolved into rioting and violence in major cities around the United States.  To date, more than 37 people have lost their lives and thousands of police and civilians have been injured. Why did so many of these events result in violence?  The answer in many cases, is extremists hijacking peaceful protests. This presentation will examine the ideology, methodology and tactics of radical groups who are influencing civil unrest in the United States.
