EVENT RESCHEDULED

Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we will be unable to hold this event on its original scheduled date (April 21, 2020).  However, the PACFE has worked with the speaker as well as the venue and rescheduled this event for Tuesday December 1, 2020.  All current registrations will be rolled over to the new date.  If you are no longer able to attend, please email [email protected] to coordinate a refund or substitution.  Substitutions for registered attendees will be allowed up until 72 hours before the rescheduled event date.

Course Description

Statement Analysis® interviewing training will show attendees how to detect truth and deception by examining a person’s words and how they use those words.  A person’s statements are based on their knowledge and often contain information that the person did not intend to reveal.  This training course will show attendees how to break down and analyze verbal and written statements to detect deception as well as determine what additional information may be available from the interviewee based on what is revealed in their statements.  Unlike other interviewing techniques that rely on the observation and interpretation of the interviewee’s non-verbal clues, Statement Analysis® eliminates the possible misinterpretation of non-verbal clues by focusing on the interviewee’s statements.  Videotaped interviews and recorded statements taken from current events are presented and analyzed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the Statement Analysis® techniques.

Who Should Attend

Anyone who conducts interviews, wants to improve their interviewing skills, and become better skilled in detecting truth and deception would benefit from this training class – law enforcement investigators, private industry investigators, attorneys, loss prevention/security personnel, accountants, auditors, and human resources personnel, to name a few.

About the Instructor

Mark McClish is a retired Supervisory Deputy United States Marshal who taught interviewing techniques at the US Marshals Service Training Academy from 1990-1999.  During that time, Mr. McClish conducted research on deceptive language which resulted in his development of the Statement Analysis® interviewing techniques.  Upon retiring from the US Marshal Service in 2009, Mr. McClish formed Advanced Interviewing Concepts and has conducted numerous training classes throughout the United States.  He has also appeared on numerous television and radio programs to discuss his interviewing techniques and has authored the books “I Know You Are Lying” and “Don’t Be Deceived.”  Mr. McClish’s training course is approved by the Municipal Police Officers Educational and Training Commission.  Visit Mr. McClish’s website at: StatementAnalysis.com.
